|Section2= |Section3= }} Farnesyl pyrophosphate (FPP), also known as farnesyl diphosphate (FDP), is an intermediate in the HMG-CoA reductase pathway used by organisms in the biosynthesis of terpenes, terpenoids, and sterols.
